Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery Terms and Conditions

“Army Benevolent Fund”, “we”, “us” and “our” shall be a reference to Army Benevolent Fund Lottery with registered office at Mountbarrow House 12 Elizabeth Street London SW1W 9RB and charity number 1146420 (England and Wales); “entrants” “you” and “your” means a person entering into the Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery Weekly Lottery.

  1. The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry and payment must be in advance. The maximum number of entries for an individual in each weekly draw is six. Entry is open to all UK residents excluding the Channel Islands, Scilly Isles & Isle of Man. Entry also excludes Army Benevolent Fund employees and third parties directly involved in the administration or management of the Lottery.
  2. Not to be sold by or to anyone under 18 years of age. Any person found to be under 18 years of age automatically forfeits the right to any prize.
  3. Your unique lottery number(s) will be generated and confirmed by post within 21 days. Your number(s) will remain the same each week. No ticket will be supplied.
  4. The weekly draw will be conducted every Friday. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator which will select a six-digit number (the Winning Number). Only Lottery numbers for players with sufficient credit at the time of the draw will be eligible for prizes. Late or missed payments may result in a player’s lottery numbers not being eligible for every draw.
  5. Payment for the weekly lottery must be received in advance of the weekly draw. Only lottery numbers for players with sufficient credit at the time of the draw will be eligible for prizes. Late or missed payments may result in player’s lottery numbers not being eligible for every draw. To check the credit on your account, please contact the Lottery Helpline on 01628 201 271. CAF payments cannot be accepted to pay for lottery entries. All CAF payments will be returned with a request for alternative payment or treated as donations.
    • If you pay by direct debit, it is your responsibility to ensure there are sufficient funds available for the monthly Direct Debit collection. We will attempt to contact you if we cannot take the Direct Debit.
    • If you pay by cheque, and pay more than 6 weeks in advance, we will send you a letter when your credit is running low.
    • We will attempt to contact you once again if we do not receive payment or confirmation of cancellation. If we still do not receive payment or confirmation of cancellation, we will set your lines to cancel once credit expires, and we will send you a cancellation notification letter.
  6. The Winning Number will be published on lottery.armybenevolentfund.org/winners or call the Weekly Lottery Helpline on 01628 201 271. Results will be available from the first working day following the draw.
  7. Winning combinations will be for players’ lottery numbers which match three or more of the digits in the correct position within the Winning Number. There are no alternatives to any prize, and no interest will be payable. If you pay by Direct Debit, prizes will be paid directly into your bank account, otherwise a cheque will be sent within 21 days. Where the winners cannot be contacted after 90 days, the prize money will be treated as an Army Benevolent Fund donation. Any cheques remaining uncashed for over 6 months will be cancelled and the prize withdrawn.
  8. Prizes are as follows: Match 6 numbers in order for prize of £10,000. Match 5 numbers in order for prize of £1,000. Match 4 numbers in order for prize of £25. Match 3 numbers in order for prize of £5.
  9. The overall chance of winning a prize each week in the main draw with one entry is 63 to 1.
  10. Army Benevolent Fund is not responsible for any delays in bank payments.
  11. No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.
  12. Army Benevolent Fund or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme. Army Benevolent Fund or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions made regarding the rules shall, once made, be final and binding.

  14. Army Benevolent Fund will collect and process participants’ personal information in order to conduct the Lottery and data will be shared with Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery’s agents to the extent necessary for the Lottery to be administered and prizes to be delivered to winners. Players’ personal details from their entry to the Lottery will be collected and stored by Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery and held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy in place lottery.armybenevolentfund.org/privacy-policy for more information. Army Benevolent Fund will send participants marketing materials in accordance with any marketing preferences provided by the individual. Army Benevolent Fund reserves the right to use the winner’s details for promotional purposes. These will only be in summary, for example Mrs Jones, Bracknell.
  15. Army Benevolent Fund maintains records of customer funds separately from general company / charity funds. This means that steps have been taken to separately account for customer funds from company / charity funds however those funds are not protected if Army Benevolent Fund becomes insolvent. The Gambling commission rating is not protected segregation.
  16. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Lottery or these terms and conditions.
  17. Army Benevolent Fund operates a Complaints and Disputes Procedure. If you have a complaint you can ring our Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery team on 01628 201 271 or email lottery@armybenevolentFund.org. If you are unhappy with the way a complaint is resolved, you can contact the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS). IBAS acts as an impartial adjudicator on disputes that arise between betting/gambling operators and their customers.
  18. Army Benevolent Fund is committed to ensuring that information about how to gamble responsibly and how to access help in respect of problem gambling is easily available.   19. All proceeds from this lottery will be used for the charitable purposes of Army Benevolent Fund with a guaranteed 60% of proceeds returned to the good cause. We allocate 20% of proceeds to fund the prizes and a further 20% to fund the administration of the programme.
  20. Keep the change

    Keep the changes allows you, as a weekly lottery player, to increase the value of your support with a donation in addition to the entry cost. For example, if you purchase one entry for £4.34 per month, you can round your payment up to £5.00 per month, with £0.66 treated as a donation to Army Benevolent Fund. You can choose your own amount to donate each month.

    If you choose to round up your donation, you can amend or remove this from your Direct Debit at any time by contacting the Lottery Helpline on 01628 201 271. We can claim Gift Aid on Keep the change donations, but we are unable to claim Gift Aid on your lottery entry payments. Your donation will not be used to top up your lottery account if you do not have enough credit to be entered into a weekly lottery draw.

    Cancellation terms

    If you change your mind, we want to make the cancellation process as straightforward as possible.
  21. You can cancel your weekly lottery subscription at any time. You can do this by using one of the following contact methods. When you contact us, please include your full name, subscription ID, and contact details.

    If you pay by cheque, no further action is required once we process your cancellation request. If you pay via direct debit, please ensure you also contact your bank or building society to cancel the payment mandate.
  22. Refunds for unused entries will only be issued at our discretion and in accordance with these terms and conditions. Please contact us for further information if applicable.
  23. Once your cancellation request is processed, you will receive a confirmation via your preferred contact method (email or post). Please retain this confirmation for your records.

Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
  • If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, CTT Charity Payments Re Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery Direct Debits will notify you 5 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request CTT Charity Payments Re Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by CTT Charity Payments Re Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
    • If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when CTT Charity Payments Re Army Benevolent Fund Weekly Lottery asks you to.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
